This thunderegg is caracteristic from the main occurence (and orginial) from the Richardson Ranch: brown matrix, and an agate core showing a water-table with white to grey coloring. These lines are the history of successive deposits, due to percolating water that was circulating within the matrix rock (rhyolite). A long history...The back is complete, with pressure ridges.

Old occurence and world-famous, the Richardson Ranch produced many thundereggs. Since a while, new sub-locations appeared, with nodules including blue or red coloring, some with some tubes and some again with moss pattern.
